Writing Update

Life has kept me busy this year. One of the best parts about my busy-ness is that I’ve continued to plug away at my writing. I’ve managed to write in snippets of time and it’s adding up. Hooray!

Here are some of my writing highlights:

  • I have a fantasy novel that I my editor completed the edits for. It’s now in the publishing stage.
  • I have a romance novel (set along the Northshore in Minnesota) that I finished at the end of June. I’m making a few adjustments before I send it to my editor.
  • I’ve submitted six short stories to markets. I’m waiting to hear back about whether they are accepted for the publications.
  • I’m currently working on an urban fantasy novel. It’s going well. Plus, it warmed up enough that I write outside on the nice days.
  • I’m a regular attendee of the Shut up and Write group that meets at the Silver Bay Library every Tuesday evening from 5:00-6:15. If you’re a writer, we’d love to have you join us.

Some other highlights for this year:

  • Our daughter and her fiancé moved from Utah to Minnesota.
  • My husband and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. We hiked to Onion River Falls, played tourists in Grand Marais, and then enjoyed watching fireworks in Silver Bay. The day after, we watched a fire circus by Fandazzi at the Trestle Inn. If you find yourself near Shakopee mid-August – October, you can see them perform at the Reanissance Festival.
  • Our daughter is getting married in August. It’s at the Renaissance Festival and we will be in costume. She’s having a small wedding, which makes the planning a little easier. I’m happy for them.

I hope things are going well for you and that you’re able to enjoy summer.
